August 22, 2017 - Tuesday  Today's Mail!

The Lakewood Arts Festival thanked Lakewood Kiwanis for sponsoring the Lakewood Arts Festival Third Place artist award again this year at the $200 level.

The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce thanked us for renewing our membership.  In the envelope was a 2017 - 2018 Membership static cling and a VIP pass for one free admission to any Chamber breakfast or luncheon during this membership year.  See Secretary Andy!

President-elect Alix Kaugmann is already planning for the new Kiwanis Year which begins Oct. 1st, by meeting with Anna Bacho, Bruce Giberson & Lt. Gov. Matt Rawlings with the intent of forming a new SLP Committee (K-Kids, Builders Club & Key Club).  Lakewood Kiwanis currently has Kiwanis clubs in Harrison, Grant & Horace Mann Elementary Schools, Harding Middle School and Lakewood High School.

    We are just a little over a month away from our largest division fund raiser.  We are still looking for golfers and hole sponsors.  The easiest way to register golfers and sponsors is to use the website:   www.Kiwanis.golf

You may also use the attached forms to mail in your registration.  We are hoping to have participation from all clubs as players, sponsors and volunteers.  Now is the time to act!  Thank you for your help and participation

LAKEWOOD KIWANIS CALENDAR of EVENTS

September 9, Saturday, Lakewood Kiwanis will be at Madison Park at the Lakewood Community Festival, 11 A.M. to 5 P.M.  We will be giving away FREE children’s books and have  (Pete's Table) popcorn and candy bars and lawn trash bags for sale.

September 30, Saturday, Lakewood Kiwanis at “Fitness Fits Everyone", 1-5 P.M. at Lakewood Park.

October 5, Thursday, Lakewood Library Preview Book Sale, 6-9 P.M.

October 7, Saturday, Lakewood Public Library Book Sale 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.

   KIWANIS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT

Community Meals!

   Cove United Methodist Church, 12501 Lake Avenue – 3-4 volunteers needed the second Saturday each month.  Please arrive by 4:00 P.M. for meal and helping package grocery bags.

   Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Avenue – 4 volunteers needed the fourth Tuesday of each month.  Please arrive by 4:00 P.M.

   Trinity Lutheran Church, 16400 Detroit Avenue – For all Community Meals arrive 45 minutes prior to these times: - 2nd Sunday – 4 P.M. 1st & 3rd Saturday – Noon - 1st Monday – 6 P.M.
