KCL ADOPT-A-SPOT - Lakewood Park - Kiwanis Garden......The Kiwanis Garden has been fully planted and bushes trimmed in preparation for the season of really beutifying the garden with full blooms. The rains the last few days will take care of the watering for the near term, but John M. is putting together a list of those who will do the watering during the dry hot days of summer yet to come. We need a few additional gardeners to help with the watering. John has a everything you will need to help with the watering. Contact John and let's be prepared to keep our Kiwanis Garden blooming until the colors of fall take over. Contact John Mumma!
Many who attended the meeting June 5th commented, approvingly, on our two speakers and their telling about what's been going on at the Lakewood Erie Screw building housing the Templar Auto Museum. Bruce Giberson who has brought outstanding speakers to our meetings has secured the Event Center space at the old Lake Erie Screw building for our August 7th lunch meeting which will be followed by a tour of the building and the Templar Auto Museum. Details to follow.
It looks like (Lakwood) Kiwanis gave away about 1600 books today, Saturday 6/2. Such a huge crowd for a day that was overcast and a little chilly. Another awesome thing was Lakewood Police fitting kids for free bike helmets. And with more renovations to the playground, Lakewood Park HAS to be one of the best city parks anywhere. If you haven't been there lately, make a stop there. Linda Goodrich
Our children's book give away program is in dyer need of a new home for working with and storing our books.
